Sponsee vs Beacons: Back Office vs Everything-App

Beacons is probably already on your radar — it's the link-in-bio that grew into an everything-app for creators, and it genuinely includes brand-deal tooling. So "why not just use Beacons?" is a fair question, and this page is the honest answer: what Beacons is genuinely good at, what its sponsorship features actually do, where the fit breaks for live streamers, and what Sponsee does differently.

We verified everything below against Beacons' own pricing page on October 1, 2026. Sources at the bottom.

What Beacons is great at

Credit where it's due — the breadth is real:

  • An absurd amount in one subscription. Link-in-bio, website builder, digital store, courses, memberships, email marketing, Instagram auto-DMs, an affiliate marketplace with 12,000+ brands, and an AI teammate ("Beam") across all of it.1 If you want one login for your whole creator business, that package is legitimately hard to beat.
  • A media kit that updates itself. Beacons' media kit pulls audience and engagement data from your linked social accounts and refreshes daily — no re-screenshotting your stats every time a brand asks.1 It also has the grown-up extras: analytics on who viewed it, a custom domain, gated access, PDF export.
  • A real free tier. $0 gets you the link-in-bio, the daily-updating media kit, and unlimited digital products.1 For a creator doing a first brand deal, that's a legitimate on-ramp.

What it costs

Beacons has four tiers as of October 2026:12

Plan Price Seller fee
Free $0 9% of sales
Creator $10/mo ($8.33/mo annual) 9% of sales
Creator Plus $30/mo 0%
Creator Max $90/mo 0%

Two things worth noting. The 9% applies to digital-product and affiliate sales rather than invoiced brand deals, so it isn't a direct tax on your sponsorships. But notice the shape: Beacons makes its real money when you sell through it — their own FAQ is explicit that "we only make money when you do."1 The incentive is to pull your business onto their rails, not to sit quietly behind business you do elsewhere.

What its brand-deal tooling actually is

Beacons groups its sponsorship features under "Brand Deals" on the pricing page. Verified from that grid:1

  • Auto-updating media kit (daily refresh from linked socials)
  • Pricing calculator — "find your base rates for brand deals, tailored to your platform and audience"
  • Rate cards to feature your rates and services
  • Invoices — "generate, send, track, and follow up on invoices in one convenient place"
  • AI brand-outreach email generator

That's a respectable checklist — for a general creator. Here's where it runs out for a live streamer:

1. The pricing math is follower-platform math, not live math. Live sponsorships clear on cost per concurrent-viewer-hour: published sources put Twitch-sponsorship CPVH at $0.60–$1.00 (Gamesight) and $1.00–$2.00 for mid-tier (Launchpoint), and this site uses $0.60–$1.50 as its working band — not a figure either source states outright, but a deliberately conservative synthesis of the two.34 A calculator "tailored to your platform and audience" built for the average creator has no concept of CCV, viewer-hours, or what a mid-stream read is worth versus an overlay. Pricing a live deal off generic audience stats is how a 500-CCV streamer ends up quoted like a 50K-follower Instagrammer.

2. Your deliverables don't exist in it. A Beacons media kit shows followers, engagement, and past posts; its "Past Projects" block displays brand logos, deliverables, and outcomes as portfolio entries.1 Your actual inventory — a 60-second mid-stream read, an overlay up for three hours, chat callouts, a dedicated stream, VOD proof that it happened — has no object to live in. Nothing on Beacons' public pages models a live-stream deliverable at all: no Twitch or Kick anything, no CCV or CPVH language, no segment or overlay type.5

3. Sponsorships are one module in an everything-app. When the same product also runs your store, courses, email list, and link-in-bio, your deal pipeline is a feature, not the product. The depth shows: there's a media kit and an invoice generator, but no deal stages from lead to paid, no deliverable-level tracking against your VOD, and no escalation logic when an invoice goes net-30-and-counting. "Follow up on invoices" appears once, as a line item.1

Where Sponsee is different

Sponsee does one job — the sponsorship business — at the depth an everything-app can't spare for a module:

Beacons Sponsee
What it is All-in-one creator platform Sponsorship CRM — your back office
Cost $0–$90/mo + 9% seller fee on Free/Creator12 Flat $19 / $29 / $39 per month. No cut, ever
Rate guidance Generic pricing calculator1 CPVH rate calculator benchmarked to the $0.60–$1.50 working band34
Media kit Auto-updating, follower/engagement stats1 Not a media kit — your CCV, viewer-hours, and deal history power the pricing
Deal pipeline — Lead → Negotiating → Contract → Deliverables → Invoiced → Paid
Live deliverables None5 Segments, overlays, callouts, dedicated streams, VOD proof of delivery
Late payment Invoice "follow-up" listed1 Automatic chase sequence — the follow-up emails go out on a schedule, written to sound like your assistant
Money Sales processed through the platform No commission, and never touches your money — brand pays you directly; we help you chase the invoice

Who should pick which

Pick Beacons if you want one tool for your link-in-bio, digital products, email list, and a decent auto-updating media kit — especially if sponsorships are occasional side income rather than the business. The free tier is a real on-ramp, and Sponsee is none of those things and won't pretend to be.

Pick Sponsee if brand deals are the business — you're a live streamer (roughly 100–5,000 concurrent viewers) closing deals in your DMs, and you want every deal in one pipeline, priced against the CPVH band before you reply, with the awkward chase emails sent for you when invoices go late. Between 48% and 87% of creators get paid late, depending on the survey;6 that problem deserves more than a module. The category context is in what a sponsorship CRM actually is, and the chasing side is covered in what to do when a sponsor pays late.

Plenty of streamers will reasonably run both: Beacons for the public-facing page and storefront, Sponsee behind it running the deals. They solve different problems.

FAQ

Does Beacons work for Twitch streamers' sponsorships?
It has a media kit, rate cards, and invoicing, but no live-stream mechanics — no CCV-based pricing, no segment or overlay deliverables, no VOD proof of delivery — as of October 2026. The platforms its own pages name are Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and X.

Is Beacons free?
There's a genuinely free plan, but it (and the $10/mo Creator plan) charge a 9% fee on digital-product and affiliate sales. The 0%-fee tiers are Creator Plus ($30/mo) and Creator Max ($90/mo).

Does Beacons take a cut of my brand deals?
Not of invoiced sponsorships — the 9% is a seller fee on sales made through its store and affiliate links. Sponsee takes no percentage of anything: flat $19/$29/$39 per month, and it never touches the money — the brand pays you directly.

Does Sponsee replace a Beacons media kit?
No. Sponsee isn't a public media kit or link-in-bio — it's the back office behind the deals: pipeline, CPVH-benchmarked pricing, deliverable tracking, invoices, and automatic payment chasing.

Can I use both?
Yes. Beacons for the public page and store; Sponsee for running the sponsorship business behind it.
